Make room for storage you can reach.
We fit raised loft boarding in Wolverhampton, with loft ladders, hatch alterations and insulation upgrades available where needed. Whether you have a bare loft or old boards that are awkward to use, we assess what can be kept and what needs changing. Book a free home survey for a written quote.
A clear landing by the hatch and room for your boxes can be more useful than boarding right into the eaves.

Boarding and optional work specified.
Insured for installation work.
Loose planks or a narrow strip of old boarding may let you reach the water tank, but leave little room for storing anything. Before adding more, we check the supports, insulation and the route from the hatch. Boards that are suitable may stay; anything that needs lifting or replacing is discussed first.
A raised system supports the new deck above the insulation rather than pressing it down. Its height depends on the insulation present, the roof structure and the headroom left above the floor. We plan around pipes and cables, leave access to equipment and keep ventilation routes clear.
Boarding is for household storage. If the survey reveals leaks, damp or a concern with the structure, that needs attention before it is covered. A new floor does not fix those problems.
You may only need a storage platform. If the hatch, ladder or lighting also makes the loft difficult to use, we can include those improvements in the same quotation. Each item is agreed with you.
A supported storage deck, with the position and height agreed after checking insulation, headroom and access.
A ladder chosen for the ceiling height and the space available to open it, so the boarded area is easier to reach.
Replacement or enlargement where appropriate, with the opening checked against the ladder and what you want to store.
Lighting around the hatch and storage area to help you see your footing and find belongings.
Any agreed top-up or replacement planned before the deck is fitted, with enough space for the insulation.
Airflow and signs of condensation considered before boarding, with any required work explained separately.
A useful comparison starts with the amount of floor you can actually use. Two quotes for the same square metre area can cover very different work: one might leave existing boards in place, while another includes removing them, raising the deck and changing the hatch.
At the free survey, we measure the proposed area and explain the work needed to fit it. Tell us your budget and whether your priority is more storage, easier access or both. We can discuss a smaller boarded area where that would meet your needs.
Your written quote should make the scope clear before you book. Ask us to confirm the total including VAT and which optional items are included. A ladder, lighting or insulation upgrade is only part of the price when it is listed.
A new floor is less useful if you still struggle to carry a suitcase through the opening. We check the hatch size, ladder position and landing space together. Doors, walls and the shape of the landing can limit where a ladder will open.
If the current ladder and hatch are suitable, they can remain. Where they need improving, we explain the options before the layout is agreed. Our Wolverhampton loft ladder service covers access options, and hatch alterations can be included when needed.
Straightforward boarding jobs are often completed in about one working day. Removing old boards or combining several improvements can take longer. We discuss the expected duration when the work is agreed.
We inspect the accessible roof space, insulation and existing boards, then measure the area you want to use.
We show where the deck and access route will sit, including any areas that need to remain clear.
You receive a written quote. Boarding and any ladder, hatch, lighting or insulation work are specified before booking.
We complete the agreed installation and show you the storage area and any new access equipment.
